This lady in Milan had her own coffee shop on the same avenue where there were other coffee shops and 3 Starbucks too.
She never realised that she is amidst her coffee competitors. She was oblivious to it. All she did and kept doing was :
To her customer –
“How was your day today? You look a little tired.”
And she listened.
Then she said, “Can I make you a cup of cinnamon coffee today evening ?”
As her agile staff would be on it, she would be doing a talk to another customer.
Well, her coffee shop was full, overfull at times. It was pouring with revenues proportional to the attention she was pouring over each cup of coffee.
So,
a. How you do what you do defines you. The quality of your presence. The magic is in the little detail and attention. The connection is with humanity. The money is just the exchange of the best service you are giving. And your customer experiences that small lifting.
b. Now, she derives the fulfillment from what she does effortlessly.
c. I got a depth of psychological time over clock time from a respected mentor of mine – Eckhart Tolle.
Embracing the psychological time fully is of prime importance. Clock time would keep running. So, no race.
d. One more concept of his, I apply daily. And this keeps me relaxed yet alert and focused.
The mind always needs attention to thoughts. The habitual thought pattern.
I have practiced and do not give that attention to thoughts moving around in mind.
At a point, stillness sets in where the mind is not operating anymore. And what happens at that time?
Practice and see it for yourself. You would be creating magic.
e. And I would like to touch upon the concept of “formlessness.”
This is the place between good and bad which always coexist.
And this spot is unconditional. And the individual goodness emerges from this formless space.
